Strike pay by PSAC and UTE Top-up payments

Hello Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

We are receiving many requests from members and Locals regarding delays in receiving PSAC strike pay at $75 per day and UTE top-up payments at $50 per day.

We have followed up with the PSAC Finance Department and I would like to provide you with an update on this matter.

PSAC has confirmed that most of our members who participated in the strike and picketed as required received their PSAC strike pay of $75 per day for the days of April 19, 20 and 21. However, some of our members have not yet received strike pay.

Strike related enquiries

Hello Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

As a result of the announcement of our strike vote results and the potential for an upcoming strike, the Union of Taxation Employees National Office has been receiving voluminous calls and emails from members seeking advice about the strike or requesting their PSAC Identification Number to register for strike pay. Despite our best efforts, due to these extremely high call volumes, we are struggling to respond to these enquiries as they arise and have had to resort to call-backs to our members.

Talks continue into the weekend as more than 155,000 workers remain on strike

We've continued to make some progress in negotiations this week as PSAC members joined picket lines across the country to pressure the government for a fair contract.

However, there are several key issues still outstanding at the table, and talks will continue over the weekend for more than 155,000 workers at Treasury Board and Canada Revenue Agency in the hopes of reaching an agreement.

Talks with the CRA are ongoing

Contract talks are on-going between our bargaining team and the employer. We'll be sure to provide updates as things progress.

Talks with the CRA continue, members show solidarity

PSAC/UTE spent yesterday in contract talks with the Canada Revenue Agency and discussions are ongoing.

Special thanks to the thousands of PSAC-UTE members who participated in workplace demonstrations and creative actions across the country yesterday. It was an incredible show of solidarity for our bargaining team.

We’ll be sure to update as things progress.

Temporary incentive package for CRA compensation advisors

The Union of Taxation Employees (UTE) is pleased to announce that we have recently negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Canada Revenue Agency to provide temporary incentives to compensation advisors at the SP-04, SP-05 and SP-06 group and levels, working at the Compensation Client Service Centre. Attached you will find a copy of the MOU.

Tentative agreement reached with Canada Revenue Agency for 35,000 PSAC-UTE members

After more than a year and a half of bargaining leading to one of the largest strikes in Canadian history, the PSAC-UTE bargaining team has reached a tentative agreement for the more than 35,000 Canada Revenue Agency workers who deliver critical services to Canadians.

PSAC-UTE members held the line for two weeks while the government refused to give CRA a mandate to negotiate a fair contract and treat our members with the respect they deserve.
