Unfair Labour Practice Complaint

As you may recall, during the last round of collective bargaining, the employer, in some offices, directed Local Union representatives to remove from bulletin boards our Bargaining Update to members dated May 10, 2019. The reasons cited by the employer for refusing to allow the update to be posted were that the update was not in compliance with the provisions of the collective agreement, it contained false and inaccurate statements and that it was adverse to the CRA’s interests.

Union Filing for Arbitration for Wage Reopener

Parties unable to reach an agreement in reopener talks.

Our PSAC/UTE Bargaining Team met with the CRA on May 3rd and 4th to discuss wage increases for 2014 and 2015, consistent with our collective agreement signed last year. Unfortunately we were unable to reach an agreement over the two days.

Upcoming signing of the new collective agreement

Hello Sisters and Brothers,

We know you are all impatiently waiting to learn when the new collective agreement will finally be signed. Many of you have contacted us regarding this issue.

Update from PSAC-UTE bargaining team as national strike continues

Since the strike began last week, talks with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) have continued, including over the weekend and again yesterday. To date, we have successfully resolved some issues related to hours of work and information to be provided to PSAC so that the union can communicate and engage with the membership more easily and effectively. This is progress that we have realized so far because of the strike.

However, to date, we remain in dispute over key issues with the CRA. These include:

Update from PSAC-UTE bargaining team as strike continues

Bargaining is ongoing with the CRA. Parties met throughout the day and late into the night, with talks resuming early tomorrow morning. The parties do not have an agreement.

The bargaining team thanks their fellow PSAC-UTE members out on the picket lines today for their support. We all deserve a fair contract.

One day longer, one day stronger.

Update on UTE-PSAC Bargaining with CRA

Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

Despite the fact that we have commenced strike action and notwithstanding that the CRA has still not received a mandate from Treasury Board with respect to job security or remote/telework, we continue to exchange proposals concerning other matters affecting our members.

Update regarding the UTE/PSAC-CRA Public Interest Commission report

Hello Sisters and Brothers,

UTE National has been receiving a lot of questions about the UTE/PSAC-CRA Public Interest Commission (PIC) report.

Therefore, we want to provide you with an update.

As previously mentioned, the report was supposed to be released at the end of March but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which is certainly one of the biggest tragedies of our lifetime, every aspect of our lives, both personal and professional, has been drastically turned upside down.

Update: Strike Pay by PSAC and UTE Top-up Payments

Hello Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

We are still receiving many requests from members and Locals regarding delays in receiving PSAC strike pay at $75 per day and UTE top-up payments at $50 per day.

PSAC has had a few technical issues.  Throughout this week, the PSAC amount of $75/day was processed for the week of April 22-28.  On Monday, they will commence a second run for April 19, 20 and 21 to process the necessary strike pay adjustments.

Update: Implementation of the collective agreement

Here’s good news for our members. The CRA provided us with an update earlier today regarding the implementation of our new collective agreement signed on November 13, 2020.

We are happy to confirm that the CRA plans to pay eligible employees the non-pensionable lump sum amount of $400 on the pay of December 23, 2020. The November 1, 2020 salary rate will also be updated on the pay of December 23, 2020.

In addition, Public Services Procurement Canada has tentatively scheduled (may be subject to change) the following payments:
