We both agreed that we would only make the following public statement.. “We met on February 18th, and agreed to meet again very soon.”

Members across the country join town halls as CRA bargaining ramps up

PSAC-UTE members from across the country joined a series of virtual town halls this June to learn about the latest bargaining updates as the union prepares to table its wage offer in July.

“It's really encouraging to see the turnout and interest from our membership,” said UTE National President, Marc Brière. “Our members are our strength, so seeing this level of engagement is promising for the road ahead.”

Members of UTE have voted to reject the contract offer from the CRA

The members of UTE have voted to reject the contract offer from the CRA. The members have spoken and stated that they are not willing to accept less than what others have received and are not willing to give up their right to bargain on their own behalf. The member turnout for the vote was very high. In fact, we believe it was one of the highest in our history. This speaks volumes to the engagement of the membership in their collective agreement.

Message from the National President

First I would like to say thank you to the UTE Bargaining Team for all of the hard work, and effort that they have put in over the last 41 months as they attempted to negotiate a new contract.   Most members will never realize the frustration that they must endure during this process. Their continued patience and dedication to make improvements and protect the benefits that have been previously obtained in your contract must be applauded.
