Bargaining

Since our contract with CRA expired in 2012, the government has agreed to economic improvements for tens of thousands of fellow public service employees, improvements that greatly exceed what we've been offered.

For example:

Virtually every group signed a 3-year agreement of 1.75, 1.5 and 2. This has not been tabled in our case. Instead the CRA and Treasury Board have insisted that our 3rd year be pegged to the PA group at Treasury Board, rather than negotiate with us on the 3rd year.

Yesterday, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) announced how the new on-site presence directive will be rolled out in a hybrid work model.

The policy was first announced unexpectedly and in a cavalier manner by Treasury Board and then by CRA just before Christmas and without any consultation with your union.

The wage dispute between the CRA and the PSAC-UTE has finally been put to an end following a Bindfing Conciliation Board decision reached March 14, 2018.

On January 31^st, 2018 our PSAC/UTE Bargaining Team presented our case before the Conciliation Board at the Federal Public Service Labour Relations Board and Employment Board on the wage dispute with the CRA for wage increases for the years 2014-2015 and 2015-2016.

Our bargaining team met with the Agency in mediation over three days this week (March 30 - April 1) at the Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board in Ottawa.

While there was much discussion about the outstanding issues, we did not reach an agreement and remain in dispute over key areas.

The parties have agreed to reconvene next month (May 20 and 21) in Ottawa to continue mediation in an effort to reach an agreement.

With the negotiating team in place dates are now set for bargaining and demands will be finalized in by late December. Our union is confirmed to begin negotiations with the CRA during the week of January 11, 2022.

We are committed to improving working conditions at the CRA and to protect hard-won gains in the current collective agreement.

Significant improvements were made to the agreement and working conditions in the last round of bargaining. Now is the time to build on those gains. 

Our Bargaining Team reiterated the key concerns of members that need to be addressed in this round of negotiations.

Our PSAC/UTE Bargaining Team met with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on September 11-13 to continue negotiations for a new collective agreement. While some matters were resolved with respect to leave without pay and leave for staffing processes, the CRA spent considerable time focusing on employer proposals.

Federal mediator to convene PSAC-UTE and CRA in early April.

A federal mediator appointed by the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board has announced that mediation between PSAC-Union of Taxation Employees (PSAC-UTE) and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has been scheduled for April 2-4 in Ottawa.

The Labour Board has appointed a mediator in PSAC-UTE’s contract dispute with the CRA.

On February 27, the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board named a federal mediator to assist in talks between the PSAC-Union of Taxation Employees (PSAC-UTE) and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The Board’s decision follows PSAC-UTE’s declaration of bargaining impasse in January, after many frustrating months of stalled negotiations.

The PSAC-Union of Taxation Employees (PSAC-UTE) bargaining team representing members at the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) held talks with the employer between April 2 and 4.  The session was held at the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board in Ottawa in the presence of a federal mediator.

Government pushing for an agreement that would expire later this year

Mediation broke down February 27 as the government and CRA refused to address critical issues raised in this round of bargaining, from significant protections for our jobs to compensation to the duration of our collective agreement.
