CONTRACT WITH THE OTTAWA HOTEL:

Our current contract with the Delta Hotels Ottawa City Centre will expire at the end of the year 2024. After a review of the proposals from various hotels for the next three-year cycle, we have reached a tentative agreement with the Ottawa Marriott Hotel. The contract will be finalized and duly signed shortly.

SELECTION PROCESS FOR A BILINGUAL POSITION OF LABOUR RELATIONS OFFICER (LRO):

On March 5, we posted a selection process for a bilingual Labour Relations Officer position. Interested candidates had until March 22 to apply.

We reviewed the resumes of those who applied for the position. Only three (3) candidates met the eligibility criteria.

We had them take the exams. Unfortunately, none of the candidates succeeded in meeting the minimum standards required.

Therefore, we re-posted the position on May 16. Interested candidates have until June 7 to submit their applications.

SELECTION PROCESS FOR A BILINGUAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT POSITION:

Since my last report, we are still in the process of reviewing the applications received, and we hope to be able to convoke some of the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria to assess their ability to communicate in writing in both official languages before proceeding with the next step in the selection process.

OTHER SELECTION PROCESSES:

We are still working on finalizing the work descriptions for the positions of Office Manager and Communications and Media Relations Officer. Once this task has been completed, we will be in a position to post selection processes to try and fill both positions.
