Last month, both the PSAC/UTE bargaining team and CRA agreed to reconvene talks with the assistance of a Federal Mediator in an effort to make progress in negotiations.
On December 18th, we received official confirmation from the Public Service Labour Relations Board that mediation will take place January 21- 23.
What is mediation?
Mediation is not arbitration. It is non-binding. However, it can be helpful in terms of making progress towards a new collective agreement. It is a form of negotiations where a neutral third-party representative - a Mediator agreed upon by the parties and appointed by the Labour Board - assists the two bargaining teams in trying to find solutions and break impasses.
Committed to negotiating
We are committed to negotiations. We are also committed to winning a fair contract, one that provides protections and fair compensation for PSAC/UTE members working at CRA.
