Telework
Virtual background - Boycott the National Public Service Week
In April, we asked you to boycott National Public Service Week because we were outraged over the employer’s unnecessary use of the moratorium on term conversions. Since then, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) chose to follow Treasury Board and require workers to report to the office a minimum of three days a week starting in September. At the same time, the employer advised us that approximately 2,000 of our term members working in its Contact Centres would see their contracts expire on May 10, not to be renewed.

Virtual Work Arrangement Update
Brothers, Sisters and Friends,
This will serve as an update to the messages from our National President on May 16th regarding the Commissioner’s arbitrary and unilateral decision to comply with the Treasury Board Direction of an increase to an average of three days per week Requirement of On-site Presence (ROOP).
What the federal government was hiding about their telework mandate
New Access to Information documents show that the federal government’s decision to impose a rigid three-day in-office mandate was not based on data or research on productivity, despite clear evidence that hybrid work boosts performance. The documents reveal the government ignored their own evidence and steamrolled ahead with a plan.
