Subject: Roll-Out of UMA Foundation Training
You will find attached a revised copy of the UMA Foundation Training material that was initially rolled out on August 7th 2012.
We received a number of questions and suggestions and these were discussed during the last National UMA Committee meeting. As a result we have added information on activity codes and updated some of the examples. Please ensure that this version is used and delete all previous ones.
The National UMA Committee has requested that no further changes be made to the content and delivery of this training material. Additional suggestions/comments on the material are welcomed; they will be taken into consideration next fall and a revision will be issued at that time if necessary.
It is anticipated that UMA for Natural Work Team, which will replace Phase II, will be available in the new fiscal year. In the meantime, any scheduled sessions of UMI Phase II should proceed as planned. Any new request for UMI Phase II sessions should be at the discretion of the regional UMA committees.
Any other questions regarding roll out in your region and train-the-trainer sessions should be addressed by your regional UMA committee. As you know the AFS Group has confirmed their resumption of participation in UMA activities. If you have not already done so, your first step would be to hold regional UMA meetings to re-engage AFS and discuss the roll out plans with all members of the committee.
