The Committee has not met since the last meeting of the Executive Council in September.
There is no proposed date for the next meeting, however with the recent memorandum to return back to consultation, I would expect the employer to setup dates for the near future.
The Committee has been receiving a number of queries from around the country in regards to the Service Renewal Initiative announcement made by the employer on November 15, 2016.
The employer didn't consult with the committee prior to releasing the information to the staff in a country wide announcement. The National committee was briefed but wasn't provided the decks and any relevant information for their records with respect to Service Renewal Initiative announcement.
As such, the regional and local committees potentially have more information than the National Office. If you feel that you have information that may be beneficial to the National Committee, please forward it to myself (blairb@ute-sei.org) or Kent MacDonald (macdonk@ute-sei.org).
As more information becomes available, it will be shared with the Executive Council and will flow to the Locals.
