May 23, 2024

1. CALL TO ORDER OF THE VIRTUAL SPECIAL MEETING

Marc Brière, Doug Gaetz, Adam Jackson, Kevin Welgush, David Lanthier, Cosimo Crupi, Jamie vanSydenborgh, Brian Oldford, Patricia Sleczkowski, Jérôme Martel, Eddy Aristil, Kimberley Koch.

The virtual special meeting was called to order at 10:15 a.m. with President Marc Brière in the chair.

The Executive Council approved the following motion:

Resolution#1

Whereas The UTE Equal Opportunities Committee has met to start to organize and develop the three (3) Regional EO Conferences.

Be it Resolved That the following dates and sites for the three Inter-regional EO Conferences in 2024 and 2025 be approved by Council:

  • October 18 – 20, 2024, Edmonton, AB for Pacific, Rocky Mountains, Prairies regions
  • April 11 – 13, 2025, Mississauga Hamilton, ON for Greater Toronto, Southwestern Ontario, Northern and Eastern Ontario regions
  • May 23 – 25, 2025, Saint John Moncton, NB for National Capital Region, Quebec, Montreal, Atlantic regions

The Committee will meet virtually monthly to plan the details of the conferences.

OTHER BUSINESS: 

RETIREMENT OF BROTHER CHRIS AYLWARD

The Executive Council is in favor to recognize positively Brother le Chris Aylward, outgoing PSAC National President at the PSAC Convention for his numerous years of service.

A proposed motion will be sent out once it is drafted:

MOTION: Be it resolved that UTE offer Brother Chris Aylward a gift for his upcoming retirement.
