A meeting was held on February 9th, 2023, to discuss the return to in-person UMA.

During the meeting we were provide with information regarding the restart of the UMA 103 workshop. The intention is to begin again in May 2023.

Discussion turned to the possibility to facilitate a hybrid option and it was discussed that in-person is the first choice, then virtual second – to allow for accommodations and that hybrid would not be beneficial, both to the participants and to the facilitators.

UTE requested that because of the changes that are going on in the Western region and Ontario region that they should consider doing UMA session via program, as that will allow the Team Leaders/Managers to be in the workshops with the Union Representatives that they will interact with most often. This suggestion was received well.

All parties agreed to the changes to the UMA 102 training material to two courses: Powerful Conversations (1 hour) and Difficult Conversations (2 hours), there were questions about the length of the prerequisite courses, but UTE found no issues with the length.

We were provided with both the in-person training material and the virtual training material to review and provide feedback. Feedback deadline is March 10th, 2023.
