- UNASSIGNED UTE MEMBERS
As a follow-up to the strategy put in place on May 30th to address the backlog of unassigned members in the Locals, I am very pleased to inform you that the problem is now under control. Indeed, last May, we had transferred to the Agency the report containing 7,111 unassigned members to obtain the workplaces of the members in question.
I am proud to report that of the 7,111 unassigned members, 6,430 have been assigned to a local. According to information obtained by the Agency, of the remaining 681 members, some are on long-term leave without pay and the vast majority have never even been employed by the Agency.
However, with respect to electronic pledge cards, processing these cards continues to be a problem. We are currently managing to process about 500-600 cards per week, but the Locals are sending us a significant number of cards so the gap is not closing as quickly as we would like.
We will continue to monitor the situation very closely and will keep you informed of any developments on this issue.
Respectfully submitted,
Marc Brière
National President
