Myself holding baby Nelly while her mom teaches students enrolled in the adult literacy program I was afraid to move her because she was given to me when asleep...I didn't want her to wake up terrified that she was in some strange white woman's arms!!...the day before, I started an infant bawling...apparently seeing a white person for the first time is very scary! But in this case upon waking Nelly just stared at me for several minutes and after a few funny faces and coos from myself she was all smiles. |
