February 16, 2016
Nova Scotia is expected to receive at least 1500 Syrian refugees, (mostly families with young children) by the end of March 2016. The PSAC Halifax Human Rights Committee has been working with the Immigration Association of Nova Scotia who were seeking donations of small items such as hats, mittens, brushes and combs, toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorant and school supplies. These were not items that were received when donations were made by the general public. Donations were made by other PSAC locals, but nothing compared to the generous donation received from UTE Local 80003 members.
THANK YOU.
